Fu Shin House
We were amazed by the views when we first visited the flat, the views from the living room include both mountain and sea which is breath-taking. The flat originally came with 2 bedrooms, but the main problem was there were not enough sunlight penetrate through. Hence, after discussing with our client, we decided to only keep one bedroom and open up the rest of the areas.
Our client still prefers to have the option to close off the kitchen, thus we installed glass sliding doors instead of traditional wooden door. When the kitchen is not being used, it can be fully opened up which allows nice air circulation, also expanding the dining area visually.
The floor to ceiling height is not high thus we did not install any full height cabinets in the living and dining areas, in order to maximise the spaciousness of the areas.
The main design concept of this project is like the word lagom from Swedish, which means “just right” or “moderate”, we did not want to over-decorate it. Keeping the space as it is by using minimal colours, only white and light wood. The mounted TV cabinet is also white which brings lightness to the living area.
The wallpaper behind the sofa is white but with subtle texture, when the sunlight shines on the wall it brightens up the space. We put up a painting that resonates with the sea, to subtly add a bit of blue on the wall. A working desk is placed close to the living room window over looking the amazing view.
