Laguna City 27

This project is a residence for a young family who desired a minimalistic yet warm style. The space planning was designed to expand the living space for the couple and their daughter, converting a three-bedroom unit into a larger two-bedroom unit. To address the diamond-shaped layout, a tall cabinet and shoe cabinet were used to create a foyer and a dust-free zone. The wood strips on the back of the shoe cabinet were used to extend the living room and create a feature wall for the TV.

The kitchen cabinets extend to the dining room, connecting the semi-open kitchen and dining room. Knowing that the male homeowner loves cooking, the original L-shaped kitchen was expanded into a U-shape to enhance both the visual and practical aspects.

To expand the play area for the children, the daughter's room was designed with a large wooden-framed glass sliding door that connects to the corridor when fully opened. This blurs the spatial boundaries between the living room, corridor, and bedroom, while also bringing natural light to the long and relatively dark corridor.

The master bedroom's raised platform extends to the window sill, expanding the visual space and creating a storage area and a dressing room.

The material selection uses a light wood tone with a touch of gray, providing a clean and modern style while also bringing warmth to the space.
